The World is Like the Titanic

The world today and the United States are like the Titanic. The truth is everywhere, but people won't listen. We know as Christians that something big is about to happen, but the dead world doesn't care. They think everything will continual as usual forever. The Bible says that this world, as we know it, is going to end.

Daniel 12:4, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

We have witnessed incredible increases in knowledge and travel in these Last days. Just a century ago, men traveled by horse and carriage. Today, men can travel 7 miles per second (25,000 miles per hour)! For 5,900 years of civilization, men could only travel at the speed of a horse; but now in less than a century men can travel 7 miles per second!

We are living in the information age. Just by searching the internet, information can be acquired in mere seconds which once took months to obtain. Men today can send a robot hundreds-of-millions-of-miles to sample dirt on Mars and then transmit that information back to the earth in seconds. Men have learned to harness the sun's energy, generating thermonuclear fusion to power their homes.

Yet, millions of people are starving from famine. Can you imagine? We can split the atom, perform microscopic surgery on the human body using robots, store the whole of man's knowledge on a single microchip; and yet we can't prevent starvation? It is man's wickedness that is the culprit.

In every way the world is crumbling—financially, morally, economically, educationally, nationally, et cetera. Just like the foolish people on the Titanic, the world's masses today are ignoring the warning signs of approaching disaster, danger and destruction. The world is on a crash course with destruction.

As it Was in the Days of Noah

Noah preached righteousness for 120 years, but no one listened! Noah warned the people that God's judgment was coming, that the world was coming to an end as they knew it; but no one listened to his warning and the world was destroyed. Jesus said that the Last Days would be the same as in the days of Noah . . .

Luke 17:26-27, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”

This describes the world today—a wicked, evil and Godless place. The wickedness of mankind is unprecedented. The Titanic had received at least FIVE warnings about icebergs ahead, but they didn't take the warnings seriously. Most people don't take the Word of God seriously.

The titanic didn't change its course, nor did it slow its speed. By the time they realized what was about to happen, someone cried out . . . ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD!

May I say to you, there are icebergs coming toward this world. God's judgment is imminent. Are you ready to meet God? Have you been born-again by the Spirit of Christ? Luke 12:20, “But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?”

Most people aren't listening to THE TRUTH today, just as they didn't listen during the days of Noah, just as they didn't listen during New Testament times . . .

Romans 10:16, “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?”

Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God? John 20:31 - But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Matthew 24:37-39, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Notice carefully “they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away.” Could they not have known? Yes, of course, but they DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW. While Noah was preaching, they couldn't have cared less. Noah preached for 120 years!!! Genesis chapter 6 describes an evil and wicked world that didn't care. They ignored Noah's message of righteousness.

The Bible foretold that scoffers would come in the Last Days . . .

2nd Peter 3:3-4, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?”

Everywhere we turn nowadays we see people selfishly eating, drinking and giving in marriage as it was in the days of Noah. They were just going on with life as usual and didn't care about the truth. In the face of impending doom, they didn't know what was about to happen to them because they didn't listen to Noah's message. They didn't want to know. They didn't care. The flood came and swept them away to destruction. Most people alive today are going about life as usual, eating, drinking and giving in marriage; while totally ignoring THE TRUTH of God's Word and what's really going on in the world today.

Perhaps you ask... “What does the Titanic have to do with me?” In a word, everything! You see friend, the Titanic disaster contains so many lessons (practical, moral, and spiritual) for us to learn from. One great lesson is simply that we never know when we are going to die.

Proverb 27:1 states, “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Death often comes without warning. Unbeknownst to those 2,200 people, most of them were about to drown in the icy waters of the ocean, in the middle of nowhere, in the darkness of the night.

An even bigger lesson is that of being prepared. It's hard to imagine that a ship carrying so many lives didn't have enough life boats. Believe it or not, The Estonia ship went down on September 29, 1994 in the Mediterranean sea and 850 of its passengers drowned. Again, they didn't have enough life boats. The only thing that men ever learn from history is that men never learn from history.

We are living in the Last Days. Jesus Christ is going to return soon, and most of the world will be left behind to worship the Antichrist. Ultimately, the pleasure-seeking world will be swept away in their unbelief and wickedness and cast into the Lake of Fire. No one listened to Noah except his immediate family. The inhabitants of Capernaum didn't listen to Jesus. The entire city of Gadarenes asked Jesus to leave their coasts and never come back. America banned prayer in 1962 and the Bible in 1963 from our public schools. America has forgotten God.

Most people alive today are going about life as usual, eating, drinking and giving in marriage (immorally going from one failed marriage into another); while totally ignoring THE TRUTH of God's Word and what's really going on in the world today. While we are facing impending doom and destruction in this world, most people couldn't care less. Sadly, that includes nearly all the churches today. Just as the world didn't care before the flood came and swept them away. Just as Sodom didn't care before God reigned down fire and brimstone to consume them. Just as Jerusalem didn't care before Babylon utterly destroyed them. Just as the rich man didn't care before God cast him into the flames of Hell. So also are the wicked world today, who don't care about THE TRUTH, but eternal judgment from God is coming!

ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD!

2nd Thessalonians 2:10, “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them
that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”

1,800 deaths happened as a result of the titanic sinking and that sounds like a lot, but did you know that hundreds-of-thousands of people die every day on average?

The Word of God declares in Proverb 14:12 and then again in Proverb 16:25, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Did you know that most people today are on a spiritual Titanic, headed for complete destruction? The Bible teaches that only those who are “born again” by the Spirit of God in Christ Jesus can go to Heaven (John 3:3-7). So many religious people THINK they are safe, just as the passengers upon the Titanic did that fateful night back in 1912; but they are not. They are on a voyage to eternal damnation!

Do you have a lifeboat to take you to Heaven when your earthly vessel sinks into the grave? The ONLY Lifeboat is Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Death came upon the Titanic passengers without warning, just as those who died in the flood of Noah's time, there was no escape! It's still not too late for you to escape the wrath of God friend. You can still be saved, but time is running out. Ye Must Be Born Again. You need GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Haven’t Christians been waiting for something to happen for 2000 years? What makes you think it will happen now?

@LeopoldBloom The Bible warned about people asking this question and then it goes on to answer that question:

2 Peter 3:3 - Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
@RobinRightwild What about Matthew 24:36, "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Or Thessalonians 5:2, "For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night."

There have always been scoffers. That could be applied to any time period.

They've been saying that consistently for the past 2000 years.

@RobinRightwild And the Bible said nothing about it happening during my lifetime. People in the past 2000 years have been wasting their lives expecting it to happen, and nothing ever happened. For what you may know, even assuming the Bible isn't totally a work of fiction, it could happen in 10,000 a.D. and I don't see why I or you should care.
What happened to your post about famous non believers converting before death? You quoted a lots of people without citing and followed that with usual bigger list of bible verses.

I did a little fact checking and you deleted the post.

@BlueSkyKing I recognized that I would have to do more research in order to determine whether or not the atheist confessions are legitimate. I saw your comment and I am willing to investigate the claims and accept the possibility that they are not true. In all honesty, there aren't really any sources out there to confirm whether or not they are true, so the endeavor is probably useless. So, I just deleted it.

Irrespective of what anyone says on their deathbed, Heaven and Hell are real because the Bible says so and that is the final authority.
@RobinRightwild I know that you’re promoting an agenda by putting down atheism. People that believe in a god based on emotional reasons, I accept. Logic or science reason, I question. We’re all children of The Enlightenment and I think The Scientific Method is man's best invention so far. It’s non physical idea that works. Doubt is good.
