Isaiah and repentance

Isaiah 57:15 says:

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Wow what an awesome God we have- a God that doesn't just stay up in his holy habitation but comes down to us and gets involved in our lives!

Those who quote Matthew 19:23-24 forget about verse 25 and 26.

I love the fact that Christ saves anyone from any background- people who have to rely on foodbanks, the looked down upon refugee and even the country club folk! All you have to do is accept the fact that in his love, he died on the cross and rose on the third day, so those who trust in him can recieve an eternity in heaven.

I believe the attitude Isaiah mentions is very important in recieving the Gospel though, as it would be very hard to recieve the Gospel puffed up full of pride.

The above verse from Isaiah should also be used in our attitude to repentance, to realise our lowliness and spiritual poverty before a thrice Holy God. But a Holy God full of compassion and love, eager to recieve ourselves!

Your post was such a blessing I can't get those words out of my mind that God gave you, above. I'm so grateful to God and for you. There's only a handful, if that, that speak for the Lord on this site, so I am very grateful for you and to you, for standing for God. He is so amazing. I will never get over him and what he has done for us when he didn't even have to. There's No greater Love than that of God.
@LadyGrace Thanks so much sister!

When I was sat doing my morning Bible study with a coffee, these words really hit me!
@BritishFailedAesthetic oh beloved, they can do nothing but. Unless the person is just so hard-hearted they have turned away from the beautiful words and Love of Christ for them.

This proves that God is the greatest inspiration of all. In fact, this is exactly how the Bible was written, and not just entrusted to anyone to write it, but the Bible confirms that God entrusted his Holy Word, only to holy men of old, under the direction and inspiration of the Holy spirit, just as surely as He spoke to your heart, as you sat having your morning Bible study. God bless you in this way and leads you.
