Isaiah and repentance

Isaiah 57:15 says:

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Wow what an awesome God we have- a God that doesn't just stay up in his holy habitation but comes down to us and gets involved in our lives!

Those who quote Matthew 19:23-24 forget about verse 25 and 26.

I love the fact that Christ saves anyone from any background- people who have to rely on foodbanks, the looked down upon refugee and even the country club folk! All you have to do is accept the fact that in his love, he died on the cross and rose on the third day, so those who trust in him can recieve an eternity in heaven.

I believe the attitude Isaiah mentions is very important in recieving the Gospel though, as it would be very hard to recieve the Gospel puffed up full of pride.

The above verse from Isaiah should also be used in our attitude to repentance, to realise our lowliness and spiritual poverty before a thrice Holy God. But a Holy God full of compassion and love, eager to recieve ourselves!

Your post was such a blessing I can't get those words out of my mind that God gave you, above. I'm so grateful to God and for you. There's only a handful, if that, that speak for the Lord on this site, so I am very grateful for you and to you, for standing for God. He is so amazing. I will never get over him and what he has done for us when he didn't even have to. There's No greater Love than that of God.
@LadyGrace Thanks so much sister!

When I was sat doing my morning Bible study with a coffee, these words really hit me!
@BritishFailedAesthetic oh beloved, they can do nothing but. Unless the person is just so hard-hearted they have turned away from the beautiful words and Love of Christ for them.

This proves that God is the greatest inspiration of all. In fact, this is exactly how the Bible was written, and not just entrusted to anyone to write it, but the Bible confirms that God entrusted his Holy Word, only to holy men of old, under the direction and inspiration of the Holy spirit, just as surely as He spoke to your heart, as you sat having your morning Bible study. God bless you in this way and leads you.

AMEN!!! I love this post and I love the fact that Jesus accepts all who come to him. God is so amazing. It just boggles a person's mind that such a holy and supreme God would step down from his throne in heaven just to bring us the message of salvation so we can be saved. He didn't have to do that. But he did and no one forced him to do it. He volunteered. There's no love like the love of Jesus, for sure. Thank you for this beautiful message and so beautifully written.
@LadyGrace Thanks sister, it takes a lifetime of growing in comprehension to get how such a holy God would do this for us!

Thankyou so much for the encouragement!
@BritishFailedAesthetic oh brother it absolutely does. I'm so grateful to him and for you I cannot even find the words this morning but God knows. I love you so much and I thank you so much for this most beautiful post.
Jesus went through the hard part, with all the suffering like none other, on Earth. What he asks of each of us in order to save us and not even thinking of himself, is not that hard. He asks so little of us, yet gave His absolute all for us, even when he knew some would reject him. What he asks is so little in return.

There's nothing hard about asking God to forgive us of our sins, and then the Holy Spirit he sends to us at that moment, does all the transformation needed for a brand new life in Christ. That is the most precious gift and greatest blessing on Earth. I do wish people would consider this and come to the Light and life that comes from Jesus Christ. A brand new life in him, just as if we had never sinned, because He not only forgives our sins, but remembers them no more . Thus, the term "born again", a brand new start and spiritual life in Christ is bourne in us, and his Holy Spirit comes to life in us and dwells within us. There's nothing more exciting than that. A true miracle that can only be experienced by faith. The proof of God is in the experience. The everlasting promise of eternal life in heaven, far exceeds anything we shal ever experience.
57:14-19 To the faithful ones in exile, God promises that a highway will be constructed for their return, and every obstruction will be removed. For the God who dwells in the high and holy place also dwells in the humble and contrite heart. He will not contend forever with the souls that He has made, otherwise they would perish under His anger. God did send forth His wrath against His covetous, backsliding people, but His anger has a limit. He will restore those who turn from their idolatry, causing them to bring Him the fruit of their lips.
