If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you'd go to Heaven?

The Bible says that you can know:

1 John 5:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

There are a couple of things you have to understand first:

The Bible Way to Heaven

1. Admit you are a sinner.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; -Romans 3:23
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: -Romans 5:12
*No one is good enough to go to Heaven on their own merit. No matter how much good we do, we still come short.

2. Realize the penalty for your sin.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -Romans 6:23
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: -Romans 5:12
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. -Revelation 20:14-15
*There is a payment for our sin which is eternal death in a place called Hell and the Lake of Fire.

3. Believe that Christ died, was buried and rose from the grave as a payment for your sin.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. -Romans 5:8
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; – Acts 10:39-40
*Salvation is simply putting your faith (or believing) that Jesus Christ paid for your sins.

4. Understand that salvation will last forever.

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; -Titus 1:2
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:15-16
*When God saves you he gives you “eternal/everlasting” life; in other words, life that will never end; life that will last forever. So, when he saves you it is forever. No matter what you do after you receive “the gift of eternal life” it can never end. Otherwise God lied, and we know that God “cannot lie”.

5. Pray and ask Jesus Christ to save you.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. -Romans 10:9-10
*Eternal life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith. Anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved forever. Being saved is a one time event. All you have to do is ask.

Let me help you word a prayer. Realize it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I know I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and rose from the grave to pay for my sins. Please save me and take me to Heaven when I die. Amen.

Good Affirmation.

As for me, I will stand in Judgement and say, "whatever you decide I will accept, for I am a sinner.
Sure all believers desire to go to Heaven and so do I, but I'll let Him decide my faith.

Matthew 7:21-23
@eyeno Scripture said it is we who decides our fate. Jesus tell us how to get there and it's our choice whether we want to accept his invitation of salvation or not. Leave it to chance and our soul will be misguided. Too many people will leave the destiny of their souls to the wind and scripture says when you do that you leave it to go the wrong place. God doesn't make that decision for us.

@LadyGrace right, so I continue believing and doing the best I can. 👍🏼
@eyeno does that mean as in earning the right to be saved and go to heaven? We don't have to earn our way to heaven at all. Jesus already loves and accepts us for who we are. The Bible says we do not get to heaven by good works but by the grace of Jesus Christ and the blood he shed for our sins. Salvation never takes place by our performance nor is it based on it. Salvation is based on the work that Jesus Christ did on the cross to save us and we accepted his invitation to be forgiven of our sins.

I had Chinese for lunch today and the fortune cookie said "There are good times in your future". I added the customary "in bed".

Is that how the message from God will work?

If anything, I probably deserve to go to Hell.

Yeah I am a Christian and I know one thing. My Savior has the ultimate decision over my place. Insofar as it is up to me I try and fail and try again. Insofar it is up to Him - He never fails. That completely aside as St Paul explained you have to run your race.

i believe we all go to heaven though we might get sent back. i do believe in reincarnation. i also think we can be sent places less than heaven but then they are only temporary id think. i think God is a loving God and dont really believe in hell in the common manner that its thought. i have alot of weird notions of heaven and hell that im not quite clear on though so who knows really.
Yep, but it doesn't have anything to do with the bible.
I'd go straight to hell. I'm just about sure of that

Heaven makes no sense

Another block :) Why do people think others want to hear their dribble. Have a good time in heaven, hell, middle earth, or what ever fantasy land you wish to visit.
@Nelisme Uh...look at the forum.

You die. You are dead. According to scripture you stay there until Jesus returns...whenever that is....the clock keeps ticking.

@JSul3 A very wise Christian pastor shocked the people at a funeral when he said "I don't believe in Life after Death". The mourners gasped. Then the pastor went on to say "I believe in LIfe after life".
