IMHO, and I'm saying this as an Atheist, lukewarm xtians are the worst of all, if any one group is the most faithful to the bible it's the members of Westboro that pickets military funerals.
@NativePortlander1970 No, they're not faithful at all.
@BritishFailedAesthetic They follow the bible 100%, adhering to Moses and the Prophets.
Matthew 5
@NativePortlander1970 Poor scriptural exposition.

@NativePortlander1970 Why did you quote this passage? How do they relate to the topic at hand..
@Adstar Because too many self professing believers ignore the Mosaic laws, thinking they're no longer under their covenant.

@NativePortlander1970 We are no longer under the Mosaic covenant.. That was a covenant established between God and the Jews.. The New Covenant established by the LORD Jesus in the New Testament is the agreement established between the LORD and His followers..

@NativePortlander1970 Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit in His letters.. Reject Paul and you are rejecting the Word of God.. You are going down the road of law bondage and as the Jews discovered they could not do the law to the level of Godly perfection.. So the law in effect brought them death.. The point of the Law was to let honest peoples know that no one can do the Law without failure and that by our feeble attempts at law doing NO ONE can be justified.. Only by the Atonement of the LORD Jesus can one be saved.. Christians are not saved by being good.. We are saved by having all our sins justly forgiven and it is a gift from God so that no one will be able to boast.. All glory, all honor, all boasting is for The eternal LORD Jesus.. He is the Redeemer, It is through His goodness that we are saved not though our own filthy rags attempts at being good..
