Interesting he said he read the Bible... Therefore i think He is responsible for the path he chooses in regard to what church affiliation he goes for... There are a lot of converts who are really cultural converts who are really joining churches, joining a community because of the benefits they think they will receive from joining in.. They are followers of what i call Churchianity not Christianity..

I always advise people who are seeking God to read the New Testament and yeah then read the OLD testament and then they can chose to seek out a church group to obtain some fellowship if that's what they feel lead to do..
IMHO, and I'm saying this as an Atheist, lukewarm xtians are the worst of all, if any one group is the most faithful to the bible it's the members of Westboro that pickets military funerals.

@NativePortlander1970 Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit in His letters.. Reject Paul and you are rejecting the Word of God.. You are going down the road of law bondage and as the Jews discovered they could not do the law to the level of Godly perfection.. So the law in effect brought them death.. The point of the Law was to let honest peoples know that no one can do the Law without failure and that by our feeble attempts at law doing NO ONE can be justified.. Only by the Atonement of the LORD Jesus can one be saved.. Christians are not saved by being good.. We are saved by having all our sins justly forgiven and it is a gift from God so that no one will be able to boast.. All glory, all honor, all boasting is for The eternal LORD Jesus.. He is the Redeemer, It is through His goodness that we are saved not though our own filthy rags attempts at being good..
