So if Noah and his wife only had sons, how did they repopulate the world after the global flood?

@BritishFailedAesthetic Ah, good. You and I have absolutely no reason to argue over this. I'm fully convinced that to the people living in the Middle East at the time, a large local flood due to a glacier receding would have looked like the whole world was covered.

@LordShadowfire Exactly. There have been many great floods in our global geologic history. For example, at one time the Mediterranean Sea was dry and the opening to the Atlantic at Gibraltar & Morocco was closed off. When that opened up I'm quite sure there were many peoples for whom it appeared that the whole world flooded.

Only a very small segment of the Abrahamic faiths take the stories of what we Christians call the Old Testament to be literal histories. Most Muslims, Jews, and Christians know they are meant to be allegories.

@sarabee1995 Yeah, well, that small segment all seem to be interested in influencing American politics, which is why I do what I do, lol.

@sarabee1995 馃槻 Really??? The Bible ain't the Truth???
@OliRos Oh, the Bible is the truth.
sarabee199526-30, F
@LordShadowfire Just please know that you are addressing a very small portion of Christianity. 馃檪

@OliRos "Truth" is not limited to literal histories. There are many "truths" in Scripture. But most of us who look to those truths know that it is dangerous to read allegories as histories.

@sarabee1995 馃 Of course!

As your comment to @LordShadowfire implies, not all Christians are literalists. 馃尮

@BritishFailedAesthetic Still waiting on that evidence, bro.
