Why do you need an accessory to connect with an all-seeing, all-powerfu "god"?

Can't it cope without the beads?

it is good to connect to the light for a moment every day, otherwise you will feel dark, due to stress, guilt, bad thoughts or bad people around you

@Adeptlinguist People have always interwoven numerology with other beliefs. I don't see it, but I also am not Catholic, though I have a copy of the revised catechism of the Roman church from a few years back, and I am not unfamiliar with early Christian thought.

@SomeMichGuy It really puzzles me. On the one hand, "god" is all-powerful, all-knowing and, allegedly, "loving".

On the other, it insists on a specific number of ritualistic words in order to be kept satisfied.

No idea. Not part of that.

Luther revolted in part because of the Catholic appeal to "tradition" as a valid source of theology, practice, etc. In referring to the veneration of Mary, the footnotes in the catechism I have refer to tradition.

Jesus teaches that forgiveness is free, but actual contrition is a part of it (though I would say actual desire for a relationship with God). There are a lot of extra-Biblical elements in certain places.
