A touching story behind this portrait

This is John Bunyan and his blind daughter, Mary - she was the daughter Bunyan was closest too and he particularly missed her when he was in prison in England for religious non conformity (he was a Puritan).

Mary was blind but she certainly wasn't blind to spiritual matters! She has long since entered glory where she is now able to see with perfect vision!

Comments and hearts are very encouraging as I am not God and need encouragement, I need to know my posts are fruitful!

It is so discouraging to see Christians here have all the time in the world to promote their political hucksters here but not enough time to encourage Christian posters and share some love for the persecuted church! LadyGrace shared my sentiment.

@BritishFailedAesthetic No probs man. Thank YOU for frequent reminders to pray for them cause it's our tendancy to focus on our own problems, which people do have, big and small. We just need to look OUTWARDLY sometimes instead of looking inward all the time.

Beautiful portrait. She was the first child, i believe... very active in the church... he had like six or seven children
