Once we are saved we can never lose our salvation. But half (5 out of 10) are not saved even though they call Jesus Lord.

"These are those who love me, those who keep my commandments" In the story of the 10 virgins, 5 had the door shut and could not enter the wedding supper even though they "loved" the Lord. But they did not really love the Lord because they were busy focusing on this life instead of preparing for heaven. They made excuses for their sins. And Jesus illustrate this further when he says "Many will preach in my name but on that day I will say to you "I never knew you" (These are pastors in churches preaching about Jesus but are not saved because they preach the wrong Jesus.In Matthew 24 Peter asks Jesus what are the signs of the end. Jesus says "Do not be deceived, because many will come in my name saying there he is" They preach another Jesus. One sign of the end generation is deceit.

Please ask God for wisdom! God says he will give us wisdom if we truly want it. Many people do not really want the truth. The Bible is not that difficult to understand. Don't twist scriptures. Jesus tells us that a child can come to Jesus. We have to repent our sins and follow Jesus. And the evidence of salvation is crucifying the flesh. We don't get divorced if we work on our marriage. We love people, even our enemies. We forgive everyone 70x7, we tithe and want the gospel to go out, we put our lives on the line at times to share our love for Jesus, If we don't live for Jesus then we are not saved.

✝️Only accepting HIM as our PERSONAL SAVIOR saves us.
@IPmyPants So true. If works had anything to do with keeping our salvation, then the thief on the cross would not have been in heaven with Jesus when he died, because he had NO works to show. The security of our salvation has nothing to do with our works, but rather the promise God made to save us and keep us in John 3:16. People who are saved, don't deliberately go around trying to sin, but people do sin everyday, and God still loves them in spite of their shortcomings/sins. What a sad scenario if every time we sinned, we'd be afraid that we'd lose our salvation. 🤦‍♀️ It is God that keeps us saved, not our performance, like Buddhist's believe. God's grace has nothing to do with our performance.

@ReflectionsInTime I do not think there is any sane Christian who believes a sin will keep them away from God's Gift of salvation.

But we were commanded to love one another. I imagine that involves the "works" you refer to.
@Zeusdelight You don't understand the meaning of God's grace. The blood of Jesus is not so weak that he cannot keep us saved. And you don't know your scripture because John 3:16 promises eternal life. God does not save us and then every time we send, he disowns us. Get your head together. Anybody who believes that philosophy doesn't know God. That would be like us abandoning and kicking our children out of the house every time they messed up. That's why we pray and ask God for forgiveness but that doesn't mean he has to die on the cross all over again every time we sin. If God promised salvation and then changed his mind every time we sinned, that would make him a liar. God never goes back on His word. John 3:16 Says whosoever believes in jesus, shall be saved and have eternal life. Eternal means just that....forever.

@ReflectionsInTime You don't understand English if that is what you think I said.
@Zeusdelight oh sorry. That statement could be taken two different ways, but now I understand what you were saying. Yet some obviously DO, who teach that you can lose your salvation.

@ReflectionsInTime Thanks for the daily joke. According to the fairytale, God was always people who he had been pals with and then he would take them back.
@Diotrephes just another troll. Figures.

You may want to read the fairytale with open eyes and you might gain a new perspective.

@ReflectionsInTime Even the Jesus character went to hell.

The good thing about the Christian hell is that it is temporary. Everyone makes bail on Judgment Day and may even gain eternal life. That is not to say that they will get into the golden cube, only that they will live forever outside the wall that surrounds the golden cube.

It seems that most people are thinking about the islamic hell when they discuss hell. In the Islamic version when you die you stay dead until Judgment Day and you get resurrected. if you are a good guy you get your own paradise, a harem, a herd of cute boys, and an eternal erection. Most of the people in the islamic hell are women but everyone in that hell is tortured severely for eternity. Whereas in the Christian version, hell is tossed into the lake of fire along with death and all of the bad people. That is the second death and the end of their existence.
