There is an element of misogyny to many ancient scriptures, and I think we have outgrown that. Similar to how Christianity has outgrown the "an eye for an eye" ethics, which occur in some parts of the so-called "Old Testament".
The Bible does not simply contain God's own words. It is influenced by what people thought of God at the time of writing.

@Carazaa Then why does Jesus say (Matthew 5:38):
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also."
Apparently he declares the "an eye for an eye" law invalid, whatever its scope may have been. 😑

I remember crying when I first read this scripture. But I will obey the Lord! If it pleases Him!

"All have come short of the Glory of God"
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil." John 3:16-19

Do you truly believe and follow this ?
If God loves all his creatures, and the debt of original sin been paid, why punish further those not guilty and already absolved ?

@Carazaa And you can't be blessed if you speak up? Have your own opinion?
People are fallible, hence the church can be fallible. If people had spoken up particular churches and cergy may not have fallen into doing evil things.
If we stay silent when we could have spoken against evil - is that righteous ?
Our souls are genderless to God, we are neither man nor woman in his eyes, we are his children.
He gave us a voice to use for good.
Denying that gift seems .... illogical and perhaps ungrateful.
On a side note, I think we must be careful taking all of the Bible verbatim - it was written in politically sexist times.
The inspired writers weren't only inspired by their Faith, but also their present culture.
We must be wary of such idignancies distorting the true message God intends.
I feel we must take our faith, speak up, speak for the needy, for the voiceless, lead.
To be the Shepard not the sheep.
