I'm pretty sure the short answer is "no". Someone confused the Protestant Work Ethic with an actual religion and then forgot all the parts about thinking non-selfishly.

@littlemissdani Makes sense.

No. Don't tag prosperity ministers in with Christianity, please. I want nothing to do with these phony ministers on TV that try to swindle money from the poor or gullible, telling them that God will bless them abundantly with great wealth and prosperity, if they give a lot of money to their ministry. They make me sick and they'll answer to God for it. One of the richest pastors in the world in 2023 has an estimated worth of $760 million. This is the type of ministry I'm talking about....not the ones that are genuine and need donations to preach on the air, but don't lie to people.

The phony ones will pay dearly for taking advantage of people in need themselves, but are taken unaware by these crooked bunch, who use Christ as a business to get wealthy. They're going to get a rude awakening when they cross to the other side, that's all I can say.
@Crazywaterspring wow, I don't know how I missed your message but you are right on! That's what gets me. They just ruin it for the true ministers.

@LadyGrace We agree on something.
@Crazywaterspring That's nice.

Amen, Scripture is 100% directly in the opposite of this concept.
Yes, through Jesus, God offers peace and the Holy Spirit to be with you. It does not say that you will be monetarily wealthy.
Here's proof of what you said:

He does not exist.

It was warned about in the Bible..

(1 Timothy 6:4-8) "He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, {5} Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. {6} But godliness with contentment is great gain. {7} For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. {8} And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."
Why do you care, when you told Matt there is no God?

It is a twisting of scripture to make it sound like the word of God is about getting Rich
No- Christ did not die to make his followers wealthy!
@Crazywaterspring
Satan is a Biblical deity.

He is a fallen angel, not even a god. Nor is he supreme.

the teaching that faith—expressed through positive thoughts, positive declarations, and donations to the church—draws health, wealth, and happiness into believers' lives or some such nonsense. Sounds like a big con to me it is quite common in the happy clappy church format where the pastor then does a bunk with the money or puts it into another name of something that is unrelated to him or the church and reaps the benefits of it.

There are those who use certain verses in the Bible only for their own benefit, like Satan who is a liar from the beginning who twists God's word. Some churches perform witchcraft saying things to gain money.

This is very different than loving God and wanting to obey him and give money so the gospel can go out to the whole world. We need to do that. And if we put God first then God will help us in our lives. He has promised

"Keep this book of the law always on your lips, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8

@Crazywaterspring most churches would not call it witchcraft but there is no difference between pagan witchcraft and some stuff going on in some congregations. Christ wants us to give generously but not to Satanic causes.

@Crazywaterspring There is no God but The Lord!

Giving money to a church will make you rich. That's an interesting god.
Americans know that they're okay and their victims die. Winners win and it's God's will.
The economy is justified by Jesus.
And we're never going to negotiate with them. They'll kill the entire planet. And they are.
It is a money making scam aimed at people who go to church but never actually read their bibles and just follow a charismatic con man.

I would call it a heresy but I wouldn't want to ruin the word.
It's pretty much if God likes you and you do enough for him he will reward you with material wealth and possessions. It's moved by greed and wealth accumulation. It's all the exact opposite of the biblical Jesus and therefore meets the definition of a heresy.
There is also the fact that there is high overlap between the prosperity gospel, evangelicals and republicanism. These are the same people that are turning against Jesus for being woke and replacing him with trump. As trump is more in line with prosperity values.
It's a scam to make their televangelists and preachers more wealthy through grift, as well as develop a caste system within their congregations, baptists are very common within these con artists.
