If a person believes by faith in Jesus even on their deathbed, I believe that God will save them.

Jesus gives the parable of the wages in Matthew 20. There workers are hired starting from the morning all the way till evening. All of the workers were paid the same. No matter when in life we come to believe in Jesus, we are saved by God’s grace. Whether a child, a teen, an adult, or a senior adult, salvation is always there.

Then there was the theif on the cross. He was literally dying and believed in Jesus. Jesus told him, today you will be with me in paradise.

God is judge, and a person's faith will be seen to be genuine when they come before Him. So i may not be sure if someone comes to faith at the end, only God does.

It is of extreme importance that a person not wait, because you never know how or when you will die. Today is the day of salvation. Trust and believe in Jesus today.
@OverTheHill Great reply. 🙂

I know that there are deathbed conversions but would like to add I also know if the spirit of God does not draw them, they cannot come to Jesus. And yes, he alone knows who has truly repented or not. Certainly I didn’t mean to imply that I could judge who and who doesn’t receive forgiveness.

John 6:44
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (Jesus)

True repentance comes from God the Holy Ghost as he convicts of sin.. and draws his creation of mankind to come unto him.

John 16:8-12
King James Version
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Believing alone is not it. Believing and repenting with Godly sorrow is where it’s at.

It says in Matthew 4:17

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Jesus called upon people to repent. The Hebrew meaning of this word is to turn around or change direction. The Greek meaning of the word repent is to "change your mind". Both are required. The mind and the body need to turn away from sin towards God. That is how Jesus taught it. Jesus said in Luke 13:3 "Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish".

Just added my two cents to a great reply. 🙂

“…The devils also believe and tremble. “ James 2:19
@NoGamesTolerated Also this is a good one.

New International Version
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10
