Had an intense debate with a pastor.

Nothing serious but he was dismissing 1 Corinthians 12 which says that women should cover their heads to pray and men should uncover their heads to pray. I said that in order to maintain Biblical integrity women should cover their head and men should uncover theirs. Nothing was settled and we just let it go. So shortly after that discussion which was held in private a woman from the church came to my wife and asked where my wife gets her head coverings. My wife explains that she crochets them. They are easy to make and she loves to crochet. The other woman asked if my wife would make one for her. My wife agreed and next Sunday gave her nice little tie on,, triangular head band with a small cross on the back corner. The woman was thrilled with it and began wearing it right away. In the mean time three other women have begun to wear something on their head and yesterday a lady came up to my wife and asked if my wife would make her a head covering like my wife wears. My wife is sitting beside me her head covering on and her fingers working diligently making another head covering for a lady in that debating pastor's church. Not sure you call it a revival but from one lady to 5 ladies in a few months none of whom were aware that the pastor and I had disagreed on that subject. The LORD works in mysterious ways.

So if a woman doesn't cover her head while praying, would it be a sin since you said it goes against God's will? Or at least that what was written in the bible.
So if that's true, and everything in the bible is true, does that mean that she'd go to hell for doing that? Like at judgement day she would be informed that because she didn't cover her head while praying, she will have to suffer intense pain and misery nonstop for all eternity. If it's a sin and you can not go into heaven if you passed away without confessing and repenting from your sins. Even if that was the only thing against God's word that she had done and didn't seek forgiveness for.

@Sweetguy024 Sin is in our nature not our actions we were born with a sin nature. Everyone has to repent and accept the Grace given in the New Birth. I will leave the judging of women praying uncovered to Him who created us. That aside I do get a chuckle out of those who claim they don't have a religion because they have a relationship. Sounds all nice an cozy doesn't it. I grew up with a Dad on a farm. He would send me out to clean the hog barn or pick rocks or other chores that were not pleasant to my youthful mind. However if I wanted to maintain a relationship with my Dad I did his bidding whether I felt like it or not. I try t o deal with my Heavenly Father in the same way. If He asks me to take my hat off to pray. I take my hat off.

@hippyjoe1955 if one time you didn't listen to your father and as a result he beat you to death. Would you say he would have been justified to do so since you failed to do as he said?

@hippyjoe1955 I do believe in God. I just feel it's crazy to think that it's as hard to get into heaven as most people believe. There has to be more to it than only the people who follow the bible 100 percent and do exactly as God says and any time they fumble they ask for forgiveness and do not repeat the sin are saved. Only other end result is suffering intensely for ever and ever with no rest, breaks, or end to the torment. Even the idea of ceasing to exist makes more sense to me than the normal idea of hell. I've heard that is how some people interpret the bible to be honest thou. When they say eternal destruction they simply mean that you cease to exist for the rest of eternity. Not that you suffer in hell for all eternity.

@Sweetguy024 Not sure where you are going with this. Salvation is by Grace through Faith not works. We don't earn or deserve our salvation. It is a gift. In gratitude for that Gift we do things. The head covering/uncovering I like to compare to a dress code Dad imposes the code. In order to eat at the family table the guys are to take of their hats and the girls are to wear an adornment on their head. A grateful child would run to obey. An ungrateful child will pout and have a snit.

@hippyjoe1955 I guess I get what you're saying. It's better to just be grateful for what you have and to do as your told in order to show your gratitude. It just gets me that the punishment for disobedience sounds so extreme. I suppose that's why they say not to question it, it's not up to us.

@Sweetguy024 I am sure a child reaching for a hot stove resents his dad slapping his hand away too. That completely aside the fact is that God is a complete Gentleman. IF you choose not to know Him that is your choice. That choice comes with consequences. Just as choosing to know Him has consequences. Nothing in life is without consequence. Do good and be rewarded. Do evil and expect a compensation worthy of said evil.
