250 yrs ago


250 yrs today since this hymn was first sung, written by a man whose life had been totally transformed by God. May God continue to bless His people through this hymn and may people's lives still be transformed by God!!!

The man was a freethinker, atheist, blasphemer and his language so foul it even offended his fellow sailors. Yet transformed by Grace he could write these words.

The history of this song is really amazing. It is not as old as I thought originally. I thought it much older.
