Consider the context and other translations. Deliverers, even judges, answering the Edomites who gloated over the Babylonian exile of the Jews. It does not mean Savior of mankind here.

@Heavenlywarrior TheAmalakitesare the chief tribe of the nation of Edom and guide the Edomties unto this day. From the prophecy of Ezra regarding the end of Esau -Edom’s rulership and establishing of the kingdom of heaven by the Israelites (Jacob).

@LadyGrace Interesting It reminds me of the prophecy of Jacob and Esau . Jacob grabbing the heel of esau.
The end of one kingdom and the beginning of another

Obadiah 1:19–21 describes how Israel's territory will be divided during the end times. Many Old Testament prophets looked to the day when all promised by God, would be completely fulfilled. The book of Obadiah explains how Edom would be judged for their crimes against Israel. Historically, most of these punishments have already happened. Some final results, however, will not be complete until the end times.

Any prophecies made in the Bible are only fulfilled in that book. Also many haven’t at all.

@Heavenlywarrior The fictional jealous god of the Old Testament has that name. Evidence is detectable, measurable, and testable. Speculation is your choice.

@BlueSkyKing deflection again… measure your self from what I just told you.
How many times you ask your Invisible power in your head a question? Or why can’t you stop talking to your self?
It’s impossible… that’s God in you.
Also … that was a “name” that the Most High “I Am” became for Moses and the Israelites due to the oppression of the righteous bloodline in the account. “Jealous”. Which is called “Yahawah, or Yahweh or jehovah” many say…
God became a jealous wrathful energy to destroy the Egyptians .
Exodus 6:2 And God spake vnto Moses, and said vnto him, I am the Lord.
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared vnto Abraham, vnto Isaac, and vnto Iacob, by the Name of God Almighty, but by my name IEHOVAH was I not knowen to them.

@Heavenlywarrior That story could be based on the Assyrian conquest of Egypt by the Assyrian emperor (God)
Sennacherib from 673 BCE to 663 BCE. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrian_conquest_of_Egypt

You are wrong here in assuming it meant the saviour i.e. Jesus in that it meant the Jews who would save Jerusalem from the Edomites
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Adstar indeed who is the bloodline of Esau, the edomites today?
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Heavenlywarrior Not exactly sure but i think they are Arabs,, But could include some Persians..
