Resurrection: Heaven or Earth?

I'm not a Christian nor believe all of the things mentioned in the Bible, but there's an account that I always wondered about. If any of you reading could help to clear this up for me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Regarding Resurrection, I've noticed that some Christian followers talk about being resurrected to Heaven, and some have talked about being resurrected to Earth in a Paradise environment. Is it possible to concur that there are two different resurrections for people? I'm genuinely interested in knowing about that. Thanks and many blessings!

In the end what Jesus has been building in heaven for His followers will come out of heaven and come down to the new earth.. This place is called the New Jerusalem and is described in The Book or Revelation chapter 21:: It reads::

Revelation 21
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Some Christians who have not read all of the scriptures but have read the words of Jesus in the gospels read the following and assumed that their eternal destination was heaven..

(John 14:2-3) "In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. {3} And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

So if a Christian only reads John 14 2-3 they will be left with the impression that the home Jesus is preparing for then is in heaven ( The Fathers House ).. They would assume that therefore their eternal home will be in heaven.. But the scriptures in Revelation 21 make it clear that the place is a mobile City called the New Jerusalem and in the end it will come Out of heaven and down to us and we shall live in it on the New earth forever and ever..

That is why Jesus declares that the Humble shall inherit the earth..

(Matthew 5:5) "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."

As for your second question Yes there shall be two resurrections.. One will happen at the second coming of The LORD Jesus and the second one will happen at the last judgement which will happen 1000 years after the Return of The LORD Jesus.. In Revelation verse 20 we read::

(Revelation 20:1-6) "And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. {2} And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, {3} And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. {4} And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. {5} But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. {6} Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

So on the day of the return of Jesus satan will be cast into the bottomless pit so he will no longer be able to influence the people on earth for 1000 years.. The followers of Jesus who suffered persecution and where executed for their faith in Jesus will be resurrected and will rule the world with Jesus for 1000 Years before the final judgement..

The scriptures in the same chapter describe the resurrection that will happen 1000 years after the first..

(Revelation 20:11-13) "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. {12} And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. {13} And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

I encourage you to read the Bible from Revelation chapter 19 from verse 19 to the end of revelation chapter 20.. That will reveal to you firstly the second coming of Jesus and then the first resurrection of the saints and then the 1000 year kingdom on earth and then the final judgement.. It is all in chronological order and very clear..

Thanks for asking. That's a great and very important question.

There's no such thing as being Resurrected to Earth. If you'll notice in the Word of God, Jesus was resurrected from the dead by His Father in heaven, after He died. Over 500 people witnessed His resurrection. He was telling us and giving us hope in a life after death. He was the example, so that we would know and not have to guess, that if we have accepted him as our Lord and Savior, asking him to forgive us our sins, he will do that and then when we die, we shall be Resurrected from the dead and go to heaven. God's Word says so. In fact it is a promise. Have you ever read John 3:16?

I won't confuse you with all the other verses on the study of Resurrection, but this is the main one God wants you to know. I wouldn't rely on what others may say, as God is no liar and His Word is truth. They will only confuse you. If you do listen to them instead of God, that's up to you, but God warned that other paths shall not get you to heaven... not according to me, but according to God's Word. We either believe God or we don't. Many false teachers will tell you just the opposite of what I have told you. God said don't believe them. And to ensure that you do get the truth, read God's Word for yourself. He is no liar and incapable of sinning. Jesus said follow any other way but His own, and you can expect to miss heaven.

According to the biblical fairy tale, everyone will get resurrected on Judgment Day. If your name is not written in the book of life you get tossed into the lake of fire, along with death and hell. No one spends eternity in hell according to the Bible.

Now, you can be a mean SOB and still live for eternity if your name is written in the book of life. The thing is that you won't be able to enter the golden cube. You will be outside of the high wall that surrounds it. The golden cube sits on a waterless planet that doesn't have any darkness so it might be hard to get some sleep.

@jshm2 Then don't forget to mention and include yourself and your drummed up beliefs that confuse those who may not be saved just yet or those Christians that don't study their Bible. We have the crazies that don't even believe in God or know him, yet think they can tell other people what they believe about God. Kind of defeats the purpose of this posters question. You say there is no God, that you don't believe in him, and that's why you go around trying to disrupt and tear down others who attempt to find the Lord and know him, because that's who you described you truly are so why should BlackDragonCrystals believe you?
a blessing from whom... from you?

I'm not a christian, either, and I've got my own ideas about what happens after we die, but it seems that the different denominations have difficulty interpreting this. Jehovah's Witnesses think there's going to be a paradise on earth, but they're considered a fringe group among Christians, even though that's kind of how I read the bible.
