I asked God last night to help me repent of my sins. Do you have trouble repenting?

I struggle with this every day. Do you?

The very fact that you are concerned about this issue, tells God you are a sincere person, not a deliberate sinner. It speaks volumes that God is your heart, and you are God's heart, as well.

Some people get the mistaken notion that God is just up there just waiting to beat us over the head, every time we sin, but nothing could be further from the truth. Once we repent and ask God to forgive us, that brings you right back into fellowship with God immediately, and all your sins are forgiven and forgotten. And if you're worried about sins that you do, that you are not aware of, the Holy Spirit speaks on our behalf to our Heavenly Father. When we are unsure how to pray or don’t know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit “groans” within our hearts with words that cannot be uttered or expressed.

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints (believers) according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

The eighth chapter of Paul’s Epistle to the church at Rome begins with a wonderful statement: “There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Satan is the one who is your accuser, not God. So do not believe the lies he is telling you. Instead, know, believe, and trust, that God keeps His promises. When He says you are forgiven, you are forgiven. That's the end of it. God forgets all about it and He wants you to, as well. He cannot lie. So rest in the joy of your salvation and freedom in Christ. You are not a slave to sin. God broke that of sin, when you were saved.

No. Because I know He is a loving Father that wants to love and forgive us . God forgives us and our sincere prayer, the moment we pray it. Perhaps you are not having trouble repenting, but forgiving yourself. God never holds grudges. He's not even mad. He wouldn't want you beating yourself up when he has already forgiven you and remembers your sins no more. When you're not expected to be perfect. We will never be perfect until we go to heaven. Then we shall be made in His image. We already are, but when we get to heaven we will realize our perfection in Him, with a new body that is sinless.

Yes. Daily repentance is necessary, otherwise we are apt to forget our small sins and move on. I keep telling myself to remember to give thanks before I eat, and do you think I can remember? Nope. AND I don't remember to repent for that. I swear like a disgusting construction worker after 30 years with the 3rd ex, and it ALL comes out while I am driving, and then I never remember to repent of THAT.

My problem isn't just remembering, (which is huge), but it's also that I sometimes don't feel sorry.

All I can say is that Jesus wept blood for our sins and if thinking about that doesn't help you in your repentance, nothing will.

Since there is no sin or god it seems pointless

I will not judge you. Only God has that right.

I will not judge you. Only God has that right.
That's not what the Bible says.
I don’t but I try to stay in his word. And that makes a difference… as well as having a relationship with him.
@FenixGears If you sincerely seek him with your whole heart, you will be just as close to him as you want to be. Study his word.. meditate on it… if you don’t understand something, ask him to reveal understanding to you. As you receive his word and obey his voice, you will have a strong relationship with him and he will lead and guide you. 🙂 I can tell you personally when you take a step, he will take two!
@FenixGears And God bless you as well.

Amen!
Happy you are seeking repentance… 🙂

Thank God and thank you!
@FenixGears I do thank him for you… or anyone else that repents.
FenixGears · 41-45, M
And I thank him for you.

It's hard to give up eating shellfish and wearing clothes of mixed fabrics, isn't it?

Yes, but I try to remember He always does
Adstar · 56-60, M
That depends on what your definition of Repenting is?

What happens when you successfully repent?
Nope. "Sin" is a manmade and totally subjective construct. I don't talk to my hands or rely on sky gods.

No, because I grew up and realized he's not real.

It's possible to meet God. How many people do you know whose first name is God?
