At the height of covid pandemic:

The Alberta Government decided to attack churches. There was one on the outskirts of Edmonton around which they put up a fence and locked the doors. Then they put the pastor in jail. There was a large protest from everyday Albertans whose reputations were being destroyed. Locking up a pastor for preaching in church on Sunday? One fellow who had recently from Ontario was driving down a street in Edmonton when he heard about the jailed pastor. He found the church on google maps and drove there to join the protests. He wasn't a Christian but something really bothered him that the government would lock up people for doing their job. Two weeks ago he was baptized by the pastor that had been locked up for practicing his faith. The protestor is now a Christian.

? Ok, let's look at the facts:
"Police helped Alberta public health officials close down the controversial church after it operated for months in contravention of public health orders." https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/gracelife-church-edmonton-covid-1.5977931
Amigo, they weren't persecuting him for his faith or doing what Jesus did or for preaching on Sunday. They stepped in because of persistent breaches of government health orders during a pandemic: it's because he persisted in breaking the law. And Paul didn't whinge when he was arrested and beaten many times specifically for preaching his faith - whereas this was just straight law-breaking after months of attempts to get him to comply with the laws.
I don't know what your source of this is Joe, but they have twisted the truth and misled you.

@Abstraction So you do know that it is a criminal offence to interrupt church services or prevent a clergyman from doing his spiritual duties don't you? That is in the Criminal Code of Canada. The church rightfully ignored the health orders because the health orders were not applied equally. Not far from Grace Life Church is a Costco. Its parking lot was jammed at the same time as the church was barricaded.
