HOW? HOW does one obey the first commandment?

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

If you love God, you love Him, and love with all the strength of your heart and soul.

It's silly to think that you won't be able to go to work, or deal with your family, or cook. God knows this. As long as you love Him in the best way you can.

@Nelladell there is no method to the madness 😁. Choose the path that feels right to you, and where you feel closer to Him.

I’ve read a saying ofFrancis of Assisithat might help answer the question:

“Spread Jesus’ message in any form - if necessary, use evenwords…”

IMHO words come cheap. It is through actions (kindness, love, honesty etc) that one reflects their love of God. Even when at times it might be difficult.

I am known for being stubborn and hereby prove it by sticking to my question in spite of your very persuasive comment. It seems to me that the words St. Francis wanted spread might reasonably be expected to include a method whereby we could succeed at following the commandment quoted. Otherwise, why make the command?
