Portland, Oregon: Antifa announced on TWITTER that they were going to attack a Christian Group if they dared to meet in a public space near the water.

The police did not respond at all while Antifa Criminally Harrassed Christians who met near the Portland Oregon waterfront because they are Christian. The Christians were sprayed with gas and pepper spray. Flash bombs were thrown at the Christian children.

This is really happening in the United States. I have witnessed attacks on black Baptist churches, on Jewish synagogues, and on Muslim mosques in the United States, and these are categorized as HATE Crimes.

Yet TWITTER, the sewer of hypocrisy, did not take down Antifa's post. (TRUMP is permanently banned).

The FBI, which used to obey the law, will prosecute religious harassment on the internet, but apparently not in real life, where real bodies can be damaged. Not in Portland, Oregon, anyway. NOT for hate crimes against Christians.

The members of antifa used gas masks and shields during their attack. The gas which they sprayed directly at the Christians was bright red, and another gas was yellowish green.

Matthew 10:22 "And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes."

@4meAndyou from the reports I have seen, these were not peaceful, innocent Christians; it was a right-wing political gathering in the guise of prayer. "Pawlowski is a well-known agitator in Canada, known for his brazen anti-homosexuality stance, and was arrested there in May for confronting law enforcement and calling them 'Nazis' for enforcing COVID-19 restrictions." Members of the "Proud Boys" were apparently providing security.

I don't think this is in the same category as attacks on places of worship.

By right wing you mean those with views to the political right of Lenin and Marx?@SW-User

@1354swrdt Well no, I mean to the right of, say, George W. Bush.

The problem today is that anyone slightly non-communist ir with traditional views is described as a right winger. Convenient term for avoiding explanation. And even if the report is correct does that give Antifa the right to attack people in a democracy? @SW-User
SW-User
@1354swrdt Well, no, I don't think communism has anything to do with this conversation actually.

So Antifa has the right to attack people who express different views? @SW-User

@1354swrdt I was responding to framing this as an attack on prayerful Christians, like an attack on a church or another place of worship. I don't think that was accurate. Whether there is room for violence in political confrontations is a different question.

So you believe in violence in a democratic society? Don’t you realise Christians do not have to be in church building to pray? @SW-User

@1354swrdt 1) Most people believe in some violence in a democratic society, for example the violence exercised by police forces or armies is widely accepted.
2) The question is whether prayer was the reason for this gathering.

@SW-User The NY post article was lifted almost word for word from the Portland Tribune, which is a left center biased local paper. The videos stating that the people pictured are Proud Boys are generic, and do not give their source at all. The video is lifted from Independent Media PDX, and their bias checker is also left center. The video by Independent Media shows Antifa attacking a peaceful group with gas.

Arthur Pawlowski is a street preacher, and his views might be to the right, (they are), but this was also true of Billy Graham and many other fundamentalist preachers. My brother, a former college professor and his partner particularly hated Billy Graham and they are gay. You can't spend your life in the ivory towers of academia and develop tolerance for those who believe the bible is strictly true as written, I suppose.

Why you are mixing politics into the issue of religious freedom is not clear to me.

@4meAndyou
Why you are mixing politics into the issue of religious freedom is not clear to me.

That's the question, though: Was the purpose of this gathering religious? Or political? Or a mix of both? (or are the two inseparable?)

I appreciate your research into the sources, and how hard it is to establish what actually happened even at an event with many witnesses.

@SW-User I am sure that casting doubt on the motives of a group of Christians is part of your purpose here, but it is not mine.
SW-User
@4meAndyou But you are framing this as "a group of Christians" and I am asking whether that is the most accurate context. When you put it that way, it implies that the Antifa group attacked them because they were Christians at prayer. That's an inflammatory accusation that really should be thoroughly sourced and verified.
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User Antifa warned this group ahead of time that if they tried to hold a prayer service in the park they would attack them...on TWITTER.

If you could be bother to read the link in my post, you would see all the twitter notes, there, by Andy Ngo, and I also heard in on the channel 25 news in Boston. Twitter has not removed the antifa threat.

Now, if you don't mind, you've given me a headache with your constant arguments.

@1354swrdt This group that calls themselves "Anti-fascist" is the very essence of fascism: Brutally attacking anyone who dares to disagree with them. It's Orwell's "1984" dystopia come to life: The Ministry of Love specialized in torture, the Ministry of Truth spread lies and the Ministry of Peace fought wars.

Funny I found these people who label others as fascists show all the signs of fascism. The defund the police movement is typical of a fascist movement which wants to have control of the streets. . @graphite
