Watching this on Hulu

I get that it's supposed to be about a guy with an obsession, but the REAL issue in my opinion is the extreme helicopter parenting that the guy's wife does to their son. My god. The kid isn't made of glass, he won't die from seeing a fking car accident. Death is real. Death happens to everyone and everything. The kid should understand that, the earlier the better. It's unhealthy to keep a kid wrapped in bubble wrap its whole life.

I get calls every day from hovering parents of ADULT children who still make their son or daughter's appointments, still hold their hand through basic stuff like calling to check on the status of their passport. My god, don't these people WANT their kids to become functional independent adults????
