Another child dies in a hot car ????

I just read eight children have died this year so far in hot cars,pretty much all of the parents say they forgot about the kid in the back seat,being a father of two i just don't understand how you forget,while you are driving you look in the rear view mirror,you can always see the car seat and child in the back,i just don't understand how you can just forget you have a child in the back seat ????

I don’t know. It’s a very sad and horrible thing. But I also feel for the people who really have accidentally done it. I can’t imagine the lifelong guilt that would come along with that.

@itsok I couldn’t live after something like that

Terrible

@WaryWitchWandering A couple of weeks ago a father committed suicide after leaving his child in the car and he died. :(

@Ramrod There was a cat lady who lived alone in Houston, who was walking around in her attic when one of the boards came loose and collapsed. She fell into this little space between the walls, and ended up dying down there because she couldn't climb back out. The cats didn't make it either, obviously.

My Subaru actually has a reminder that beeps and displays to double check the back seat!

It does it if it detected the back doors were opened at any point during that trip
@SooperSarah
@Spokeskitties75 it'd be nice if they could put weight sensors in the backseats like they do the front. And/or something to detect a seatbelt is engaged. Then sound an audible alarm and refuse to lock the doors like mine does when the fob is still in the car. That's bound to get one's attention.

@SooperSarah I agree…. The technology is definitely there

I feel awful for the kids in these situations -- and frankly, for the parents too. People have stressful lives, man, of course people are sometimes gonna have their brains running at like 30% capacity and sometimes make brain-dead mistakes. We should really be considering systemic solutions not to this, but to the tens of thousands of deaths every year caused by car crashes.

You got to wonder where peoples minds are at. How do you forget a child in the backseat?
Don't people talk to their children on the rides to wherever they go?

If cars are killing children, then should we consider banning Cars?
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Viper Abso-fucking-lutely, we should. Smartest thing anyone's said all day.

@BlueVeins I'm glad someone finally gets it.
