Amber Alerts for Children “Abducted” by their Fathers

This morning I was awakened by an amber alert and noticed that like many I’ve received before, the child in question that was reported missing is alleged to have been “kidnapped” by the biological father. If a parent doesn’t have custodial rights for whatever reason, is this how they become a perpetrator (in the eyes of the law)?

A father is just another person. So is. A mother. The title doesn't make either an actual mother or father.

Children can be and are abducted by a parent when the parent takes the child and leaves their home state without permission from the other parent. It is called kidnapping.
