@samueltyler2 Practice helps, yes. I rehearsed for days before the final exam in college. At the end it was almost fun. Sometimes I'm surprised how easy it is and sometimes I get uncontrollable stage fright.

@samueltyler2 Yes. I'd say 80% of our exams were verbal.

@CrazyMusicLover That is awful. I had 2 terrible experiences with orals. In the US they have mostly been abandoned.

@samueltyler2 It's always been a standard here. From primary school to college. I often had worse grades than I could have had because of incoherent speech or memory gaps due to anxiety.

@CrazyMusicLover I had an out of body experience during on oral examination, on another occasion the examiner really gave me grief. Luckily, they gave me 2 other examiners to re-examine me, they asked why did i have trouble with the other person, my comment, beats me.

@samueltyler2 I dissociate but out of body experience sounds extreme. 馃槸 When everything goes well I turn on autopilot and listen to my voice that seems like someone else's. If I am able to dissociate that's when things tend to go smoothly.

@CrazyMusicLover i actually felt as if I was floating in the air watching myself. It happened during the oral, and when a female drawing colleague was reviewing the photos and drawings I did of myself, nudes.
