Breaks my heart to watch these interviews 馃様

It's from this guy who interviews homeless people where I live.

Some of you might know already but I was homeless at one point & I was around a lot of people in that lifestyle. Some people you meet are bad, some are just too far gone, but some are just regular people who were never got a chance in life... They still have a chance but don't know where to start.

What breaks my heart about this one is how this girl can't hold eye contact. She looks everywhere else & is fighting her tears the entire interview which tells me how much she wants to break down.
Then at the end when they ask her if she has anything she'd wanna say to her loved ones... she says no then looks down.

I know exactly why that is... It's shame. It's hard to face the people you love when you feel like shit

I have watched some of his videos in the past, don't know how I came across to him.. it's sad yes . I hope with him raising awareness, some of them might get some chances .
Also my take is, chances are in abundance out there but for some, they never make it to a point where they can make good use of them. When one's in a shitty place, even if presented with a chance, chances are, their not going to make much out of it.... 馃馃挓

@elafina oh are you from Arizona too or no? 馃槷 But yeah I hope the people he talks to get more chances too. Sad thing is a lot of the chances they have, they don't see as realistic. Because they lack the resources to help them be reliable or communicate effectively throughout. I've been in that position many times.. it can be hard. A lot harder than it is for other people

@ChiefWalksWith40oz no, i am not from Arizona, his channel just getting popular. I understand what you are saying. I think that's the case. You know for me it's worked the other way around too. Looking downward and thinking, if I get the chances, this will create a bigger distance and inequality with those struggling, so stay where i am with them, if you can get this.

@elafina wow I didn't realize his channel was already reaching people outside of here. This is where I grew up so I've been watching him for about a year. Once he interviewed people I knew from high school so I shared that one on here before.
But huh? You mean you turn down opportunities just so others can get them? Honestly I'd say don't do that. Take those chances when you get 'em

I have a lot of homeless friends in the AZ desert. I stayed on blm with my son and met people from all walks, sharing public space. I never felt unsafe (but you do gotta trust your gut out there) and I loved hearing their stories and perspectives. Townies called us all dirtbags, didn鈥檛 know any of us. Lots of people get by with next to nothing and then I came back to Delaware and people are complaining about frivolous shit. My friends in the desert had nothing and were more generous and generally happier. I know most didn鈥檛 care to be part of society anymore though.

@ChiefWalksWith40oz glad to hear it. I鈥檓 just sorry you had to experience it, but if it got you to where you鈥檙e in a good place now, maybe it was worth it
