@originnone Florida A&M alum.
As a Cowboy, caught a pass over the middle from Don Meredith, against the Giants in 1966 at the Cotton Bowl. Defending on the play was. Olympic Gold Medal Relay team mate Clarence Childs.
After the game a reporter asked Hayes if he was concerned about being caught by Childs. Hayes, had a huge smile in his face and replied: "I wasn't worried about Clarence. I knew him at Florida A&M. He was just a nine four man."
Hayes was referencing his lack of concern, as he had run the 100 meter dash, at 9.1 seconds, a world record. Childs fastest time was 9.4 seconds. That .3 second difference was too much for Childs to overcome. (LOL)

@JSul3 I used to work with a guy who was third or fourth cousin to the rocket. He said he met him at a family reunion when he was little but didn't remember much.

@JSul3 Ali's is the only one I don't really like that much....though he was....I loved him. It sounds like you like boxing....so...let's try Thomas "hit man" Hearns, Marvelous Marvin Hagler (I think Marvelous was actually his real name). and....that Butter Bean dude.

@originnone Like many sports.
Speaking of Ali, me and buddies saw him fight Joe Frazier twice, and George Forman.....pay per view at the local sports arena, not live in person.
