Is Pope Leo a revolutionary or a good Christian?

Pope Leo XIV’s major controversy involves a severe schism with the traditionalist Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX). In July 2026, the group defied direct personal appeals from the Pope by consecrating four new bishops without Vatican authorization, resulting in automatic excommunications and a formal rupture of unity with Rome.

This crisis marks one of the defining challenges of Leo’s papacy. The SSPX rejects the modernizing reforms introduced by the Second Vatican Council, creating a major clash over church authority, tradition, and the Pope's efforts to maintain internal harmony.
Beyond this, Pope Leo has also had to navigate other complex issues:
The Clerical Abuse Scandal:
Confronting ongoing scrutiny regarding how the Church handles sexual abuse cases, which Leo has publicly addressed by emphasizing that failing to listen to victims and closing doors is a "real wound in the life of the Church".
Financial Strain:
Inheriting significant deficits within the Vatican budget and pension funds.
Doctrinal Polarization:
Managing internal tensions surrounding the Church's stance on LGBTQ+ communities and divorcees, balancing conservative and progressive factions.

Being a revolutionary and a good Christian are not mutually exclusive....I believe that he's a bit of a revolutionary in some ways, but that he's also a good Christian as well.
