The Pope may be my cousin?? Our cousin?

The Prevost word was too familiar, so I had to check my Louisiana Facebook groups and the groups are buzzing like never before. Pope Leo's ancestral path was through Spain, Africa, Haiti, Cuba, New Orleans and Chicago; meaning that he probably shares DNA with the millions of us who carry a bit of old New Orleans Creole DNA.

My own path being through Spanish, French and German explorers and settlers of the "new world" at its very beginning. And with plenty enough lingering along the 400 year path for us to not register as distant relatives.

One of my special possessions is a rosary blessed by Pope Pious the12th, handed down by a grand aunt 75 years ago.
This tops that by miles. .
