There are so many memorial cartoons for the late Pope Francis…

These are a few of my favorites:

I'm seriously worried about the direction the Church is going to go post Francis. I have been a fan of his ever since he uttered those now famous words: "Who am I to judge?"

For the Holy Vicar of the Catholic Church to announce to the world that he did not have the authority to judge others was a powerful message to people of faith everywhere. It is not for us to judge.

But, the papacy is like a pendulum and it swings in all directions. So, I'm worried. 🙏

@FreddieUK Precisely. But how many of our past Popes have lived this edict??
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@sarabee1995 Indeed, many have been seriously lacking. I am aware, though, that this is a judgement. I think there is a difference between a hypocritically judging attitude (which is what Jesus is talking about) and wise discernment of right and wrong

@FreddieUK Yes, of course. 🙏

I really like these, too.

For sure, one does not have to be a Catholic to recognize that Pope Francis strived to...battled within himself to follow the teachings of Christ. That Christ that is so obviously the origin of the word "Christian". I figure it goes without saying, that a great many self-proclaimed ones clearly do not.

Not a Catholic, but I recognise these wonderful characteristics as being a salutary contrast to His Hopelessness.

@msros They'll definitely think twice, Jesuits get things done. My dad wanted to become a Jesuit layperson at one point
@Longpatrol @msros My father went to Jesuit schools when he was young.
@DrWatson That’s beautiful.. 🥹
