The most beloved Pope Francis has died today!
Aged only 88 he has succumbed to the respiratory infection which has dogged him the last few months, and even though he appeared in Saint Peter’s yesterday, and we were there in the crowds, again we rushed there this morning to hear that he died during the night.
He was very much a controversial figure and head of the Catholic Church ⛪ and his work at renewal was dogged by opposition by those who had become the problem for the Church’s vast estate at the head of the social problems which have mired the important work of the church worldwide.
He was slowed in his renewal by persistent ill health and hopefully whoever is elected to the triple crown 👑 and tiaras, will rekindle the spirit of Francis’s vision for the church.
