How do the Saints intercede for us if we are asleeep when dead until Jesus' Resurrection.

When we die scripture tells us we are asleep until the second coming I thought.

But what state of consciousness are we in when we die do we go to Heaven immediately or we asleep until the second coming?

@Paul1 if you dont go up after the physical death you will stand on judgement day and all of them will burn.. there is no mercy that day.. should had listened..
