It'd be a slow grinding war, though the US would likely win out in the end it would be a highly pyrrhic victory and would probably be devastating for the US economy. Assuming it doesn't come to a nuclear holocaust and no one wins, the Dead Man's Hand system makes for a really big question mark as to the possibility of that which is highly worrying.

America has NATO, Russia only has few eastern european countries with soviet weapons. so America will probably win. but Russia isn't a small country to invade like Iraq. so you will have to give a hard fight, and it will cost trillions of dollars, millions of lives, and economy of both countries will straightly go downhill. now it's a different story, if nuclear bombs are used.
