Does anyone else think it was wrong to punish the Navy Seals for flying a Trump flag from a military vehicle?

I think they got what they deserved. That is not appropriate.

Yes. He's their president. They should not only be allowed to show support for him, they should be expected to.

You have a point. Military are sworn to serve the president, no matter who.

Except it's against DOD regulations.
@Kinevil: exactly! If Hilary won and the flew a Trump flag then maybe a telling off would be fair.

@Booyeah: I'm sure if it was an Obama flag at the time he was president it was thrown under the rug.

@Kinevil: I highly doubt that. Separation of the military from partisan political activity is taken very seriously.
@Booyeah: I'm assuming that's like a military law type thing?.. in that case they should be punished but that law should be changed afterwards.
Is it a Trump flag or a Republican Party flag?

@Booyeah: If the American flag can be burned, than I see no reason why a Trump flag can't be raised by the military.

@A7xqueen: It's a Trump campaign flag, which is still partisan as he is a member of the Republican party. And yeah, it's military regulations. The military is prohibited from any activity which might infer an endorsement of any partisan political activity or cause.

@Booyeah: Was Trump president when the flag was raised, if so. No harm no foul. He is our President. They are nit picking on every little thing Trump. It's getting tiring.
@Booyeah: they should get away with it if they say they were just showing support for their president. The campaign is over so there's no reason to endorse him
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@Kinevil: Uh, no, definitely foul and harmful to the military's reputation of political neutrality.
SW-User
@Booyeah: I feel like you're still thinking that Trump isn't our president. 🤔 It is supporting our President. There is no one that is against him. Neutrality is still there. Trump won. Game over man.
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@Kinevil: It doesn't matter that he's now President, he is still a member of a political party and flying a campaign flag infers an endorsement of it, which is inappropriate.
@Booyeah: No it's not!! You can support your president without being affiliated with his political party... only people who are so invested in the "us v them" mentality would think support for one person is an attack on the other.

@Booyeah: If Hillary had won, and they raised a Hillary flag, I would still have the same stance. The democratic party makes me roll my eyes worse than The Undertaker.
Does that mean if they salute him they are swearing allegiance to the Republican Party too then?
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@A7xqueen: You can support your President all you want. Out of uniform and not with military vehicles. Otherwise it's inappropriate.
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@Kinevil: And yet, I'm not a Democrat.
SW-User
@Booyeah: But you sure as hell have hate for Trump. 👌
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@Kinevil: In what way do I have hate for Trump?
@Booyeah: I've never heard that military can't show support for their "commander and chief" before.. seems backwards af to me lolz
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@A7xqueen: You can't even put a political sign larger than a bumper sticker on your car. You can't put any political signs at all view-able to the public from your home on military installations.

These guys did it in uniform from a military vehicle on a public highway. Big nono.
@Booyeah: Still if they can convince whoever is punishing them it's showing support for the president and not the Republican Party I think they shouldn't get punished.
Booyeah · 41-45, M
@A7xqueen: Obviously they couldn't convince their leadership of that.
