Which foreign adversary gained the most from tRUMP’s and Netanyahu’s deranged war on Iran?
Even the most rabid tRUMP supporter must be scratching their head over any possible benefit the United States gained by this ill conceived disaster.
But there is one of our adversaries who without a doubt gained enormous advantages from tRUMP’s mess. Communist China.
Washington Post foreign policy analyst Jason Willick has pointed out a consequence of the conflict that has left the United States “dangerously exposed“ as our stockpiles of many advanced and expensive weapons that were theoretically being reserved in case of major hostilities with China have been depleted.
Recent analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies found that the US expended at least 45 percent of its Precision Strike Missile stockpile, and roughly half of its stockpiles of Patriot air defense interceptor missiles and THAAD missiles.
“The high munitions expenditures have created a window of increased vulnerability,” explained Mark Cancian, a retired US Marine Corps Colonel and one of the authors of the recent CSIS report, told CNN. “It will take one to four years to replenish these inventories and several years after that to expand them to where they need to be.”
tRUMP hopefully has finally learned that it is far easier to launch a war than it is to win one. While we can hope, I doubt tRUMP is lucid enough to grasp this lesson.
