Will serving in the military make me crave the desk job that I'm destined for?

My uncle is a retired chief master sergeant. He routinely refers to the air force as the chair force.

Well the problem is the Navy do their job for them now, since the main thing about every navy now is the power of the Aircraft Carrier over actual cruisers.
@Fangirlsarah1996: Is that so? I wonder why over his career he's spent years away from his family. I guess he never got that memo.

@NoOneYouKnow: Well the navy do most of the stuff the air force do, except with greater range.
@Fangirlsarah1996: the air force has bases all over the world. While the navy has their mobile carriers, the air force probably already has assets closer.

@NoOneYouKnow: Eh, mobile is better than just having a lot of things everywhere
@Fangirlsarah1996: not when time is of the essence and you're little fleet is too far away. Then there's the fact they have guns on their newest ships that they can't even afford to fire lol

@NoOneYouKnow: Every arm of the military have standard gear that they for some reason made standard but they aren't allowed to use.
@Fangirlsarah1996: this isn't standard gear. This is a brand new weapon on brand new ships. It's sole purpose is to fire one specific type of round. A round that the navy can't afford to buy.

@NoOneYouKnow: Still why though?

I mean, it's probably a very effective weapon...but if you don't have the ammo what's the point?
@Fangirlsarah1996: exactly! Whoever approved a gun that fires $800,000 rounds without making sure those rounds were in the budget should be dismissed immediately lol

I think it's accuracy wasn't even all that great for the cost. Something like half the rounds would land within 50m.
