One of the most crucial things I learned from my drill sergeants in the Army was:

The only stupid question in learning, is the one not asked.

or as it was probably expressed " why the $4(&+ didn't you ask me you $-$)#)#(!!!!!!

@Pretzel Exactly!

I have no problem asking questions. I would rather do that than look stupid later. Plus I usually find people appreciate your need for clarification, shows you are engaged.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@JimboSaturn Agreed! And what the drill sergeants meant as well.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@WillaKissing I imagine that the drill sergeant would rather you ask a question then than wonder later when the situation is more life threatening.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@ninalanyon Exactly!

not to give you push back on that idea but if your drill serge had a SW account he may reconsider that position. .

thank you for your service.

@robertsnj Thank you and you are quite welcome. My drill sergeants were all Vietnam War veterans except for one younger guy. Probably not around any longer.

Or ask what's the quarter deck ewe speak of
WillaKissing · 56-60
@MarineBob Leather Necks-Marines and Swabbies-Navy had that term, not the Army, but I get you. LOL
