Ok Folk's those that said F-4 Phantom are correct. It's a 1966 model F-4D.

That is the trim pad at Barbers Point NAS in Hawaii. We had 10 F-4's over there
for 5 glorious weeks, showing the Navy guys how an REAL fighter squadron works. 馃槃

They were good planes but the A-4 was better 馃槀 sorry I couldn鈥檛 resist, I worked on A-4 and TA-4鈥檚 @DogMan

@Repete Hey, the A-4 was a great plane. Were they tough to work on like the F-4?
A tire change on the F-4 took hours, we had to remove each rotor and stator, and many
times they were slightly "welded" in from the heat. I went to the brand new F-15's after
F-4's. Everything was easy on the F-15's. They were a Crew Chiefs dream.

@sunsporter1649 Nice. There is a company called Military Graphics where you can get almost
every squadron sticker. I ordered some from different units I was in. Some are inactive, but they still
made the stickers

@DogMan Had to be Army, we humped our own
sunsporter164970-79, M
@DogMan Smart joining when you did, I was 68-72, got caught up in the Southeast Asia War Games
DogMan61-69, M
@sunsporter1649 yep. 88th Infantry 350th reg A company It was an all draftee division.
The Germans thought that meant they would be weak. According to research after battling
them they found that the 88th was always out front. Tip of the spear. They broke the stalemate
near Anzio, and were the first ones into Rome, which the Germans vacated so we wouldn't level it.

Where were you in Vietnam?
sunsporter164970-79, M
@DogMan 1st Bn, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, I Corps, was west of The Rockpile during Operation Dewey Canyon II when I collected some scrap iron, after which I was at Chu Lai
DogMan61-69, M
@sunsporter1649 I would have went if I had been old enough. I was the only generation that
did not go to war. Civil war, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and then my nephew went to the Persian Gulf
as a commander on a 155mm howitzer. 1st Cav. Good talking to you. Talk to you later, I'm leaving my office, and going off line.
