Very weird

Shouldn't Colt be forced to rebrand given that the US military has had that naming convention for rifles since the M1 Garand?

Not to be confused with the C7 which is the "Colt" Canadian variant of the M16.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Diamanico or something right? The manufacturer?
@Longpatrol That is why I used the quotation marks. The very very first batch which were first sold to Canada as the Colt 715. It was further developed and went off in different directions when Diemaco took over the licensed variant. Standardization between NATO countries is mostly in theory so you had Canada and the US develop things independently like the accessory rails are not compatible across older C7s and the US Picatinny system. Now Diemaco was bought out by Colt and renamed Colt Canada and likely further development will head back in line with American standards.

Who’s in control here!
@Fukfacewillie It is the USA, so the corporations.....especially the arms manufacturers.
