Most end up divorced, they don’t really encourage marriages to last in the forces.
I was married to an Air Force man.

@SW-User And if you were in a same sex relationship like the one i started two years after joining, then good luck getting the chain of command to approve the marriage. It rarely happened in those days.

@AirForce687 it’s very old fashioned ways.

@SW-User by the time i was medically retired after nine years' service, things had got better.

@SW-User That’s a shame. Dad was RAF and he’s still with Mum. And because of the way it is in Lincolnshire, I’m an RAF wife as well now, so you must have been very unlucky 🙁

@HeidiA aw I was a supportive wife, he had toxic issues.

@SW-User That sounds tough. Atleast you’re well rid of him.

💯 he lived like a single man in our marriage, being away so much, being in the forces didn’t help. But most of his issues are from childhood.
Good lifestyle though, I’ll miss it.

@SW-User Yes some bits never grow up do they. I spent about a decade of my life in the civvie works and didn’t like it. You’d think I’d be tired of living in a married quarter again, but it feels like I’m where I’m supposed to be.

@HeidiA I never lived on camp, I was meant to be moving to Cyprus for a post but never went in the end.
