What could go wrong with this?

Women in the United States Military may soon have a better option than a sports bra under their uniform.

An "Army Tactical Brassiere," designed to give female soldiers enhanced protection and performance, is currently being tested at the Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (DEVCOM).

Yeah, the Army has such great success in designing comfortable clothing... not! I'm imagining the first few thousand women having to wear a "tactical" bra designed by a mostly male development team.

"Army Tactical Brassiere" sure sounds sensuous. What is it made of kevlar?

But yeah military issue stuff is kind of yuck. Like those damned green blankets that feel like they are made of steel wool.

Pfft "Army Tactical Brassiere" they gotta be kidding, 🙄

On a side note - you know those delicious MRE's? I once heard that stood for "Meals Rejected by Ethiopia"

@CestManan MRE's weren't too bad, as long as you had plenty of tabasco sauce to disguise the taste. Worse was the older C-rations. The worst was the canned ham and lima beans!

Yeah, I'm just imagining a 20 pound bra with ceramic plate holders 🤣

@Ontheroad tabasco is gross though.

For clothing though, the worst were those damned leather boots. I remember even with extra padding, my feet would feel like they were literally on fire by the end of the day.

Now that "tactical" bra, I bet it will be the worst shade of tan or green in existence.
I wonder why are you concerned? Seriously dude this post reminds me of Col. Russell Williams. [media=https://youtu.be/5Muuc60bAY0]

@SmileOnYourBrother I agree, you are sorry. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.
@Ontheroad ur welcome, gramps.

@SmileOnYourBrother Yep, and if you learn to not be such an annoying smart a$$, you might live this long too.

In pow situations they'll need kevlar panties , but nobody thinks about the situation down under
justanothername · 51-55, M
Probably designed using Kevlar body armor.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
Let me guess, designed by the same people that thought cargo pants were a good idea 😂

If it works sounds cool. Im sure that being in combat zones, jumping out planes, crawing thru crap in a bad bra adds to discomfort. An article says that they polled alot of female soldiers on what they wanted from a bra.
Wonder if it will be the ultimate sports bra?
They could sell it if it works well.

@REMsleep I'm sure they will get an acceptable product in the end, it would make a lot more sense to let those in the business develop them... or so it would seem to me.
Now that there are more women in positions of authority in the military, might they not give that contract to women’s company ? 🤔
Ontheroad · M
@bijouxbroussard I'm sure there are plenty of women in the process all the up to and in DECOM, it's just that the Army is not known for coming out with an end product the first, second or even third time that actually meets the need. It would make sense though to ultimately give the contract to a company predominantly female.

@swirlie I don't think you are, you appear to think you are "When women enlist voluntarily in peace time, they enlist to serve themselves, not their country. And if they enlist right after high school, you can be certain that those women never had anything else going on in their lives that would promise them any kind of a decent future in America beyond what life in the military could promise to offer them. When we know better, we do better and when we don't know any better, we go out and voluntarily enlist in the military during peace time."

And the comment I made about you being blissful comes from the saying "ignorance is bliss". If you believe what you wrote (quoted above) then you have zero knowledge of th opportunities in the military and have no idea why women for the most part, join the military voluntarily.
