Virgo79 When Bush told us we HAD to start a war in Afghanistan....he made sure to stress it wasn't really a war. "There is no winning or losing....blah, blah....we're just there to "help them"..blah, blah...."win hearts and minds"...blah, blah. The same exact thing they said when we went to Vietnam. Sooooo long story shortened since we were not at "war"....nothing that got shipped over there like tanks, Humveees....planes even.....were "ours". We brought them there to GIVE to....outfit the Afghani army we were "training and helping". Enough stuff to make sure they were trained enough...had enough armanent....to fend off the Taliban after we accomplished the original mission of killing Ben Laden.
I don't care who you ask...if you even know anyone to ask. ANYTHING left on Afghani soil when we pulled out was left there because diplomatically it all belonged to the supposed Afghan "army". If we were there to "train an Army" and not be at war ourselves (and war was never declared)....then why diplomatically would all the war machinery be removed when we left because it really was ours??
What is done.....and how it is done diplomatically is two different ballgames. If we had of declared war on Afghanistan....then we could have legitimately sent over enough of OUR stuff to win a war. But with no declaration of war....international law would not have allowed the U.S. to "invade" a country we were not at war with tanks, planes, you name it. Because when you enter a country armed...that is an international act of war. But if you are there to TRAIN that country's army...then you have every right to GIVE them the things you will be training them how to use.
I doubt you know a vet to ask........and if you do.........he was so uniformed he told you what he did because he didn't know any better. Either way.............ur wrong. Nothing was taken out to sea and dumped. Especially when the full expectations was that the Afghani army would use all of it to fight the Taliban after we were gone. lol Besides....DUH...when would we have done that? Why would we have destroyed everything?? Especially "dumping it in the ocean". ;-) ;-) When we do that? In the 7 days it took to fly out anyone who helped us? Hauled out to sea on what ships? Anyone see a Navy presence in Afghanistan????? LOL LOL LOL More conspiracy theory BS my friend. What was left....dropped when the Afghani "army" desserted....is now in Taliban hands and diplomatically...none of it belonged to the U.S. military.
