Why if us hasn't drafted in 40 years must men sign up for it

My step dad just reminded my husband he has to look into religious waiver for selective service. He'll be 18 soon and as Mennonites we are pacifists. Why do They even have a draft still

A LOT of people confuse Mennonites 28th amish. Though old order Mennonites live similar to Amish. Most of us live much like other people

I guess I'm thinking of Older Order Mennonites then. I always just thought of them as Amish people with colorful clothing.

@KaliKali: Lol Amish people wear colorful clothes too. No we dress modestly but much like anybody else. If you saw me walking down the st unless you saw my prayer kapp you probably think I was just another teenage girl

You were thinking old order I know or maybe some more stricter churches. In both Amish and Mennonites rules vary by district. Some Amish use computers in business
