I think the magpies and the squirrel in my back garden have formed an uneasy alliance

I think they've got a common enemy in all the neighbourhood cats, and so are banding together. The pigeons don't look too concerned, just a little confused.

No word on who the council of frogs will be siding with, although it will most likely be the alliance. This might cause the snails to stay out of it entirely rather than being on the same side as the frogs.

It might be down to the fox to broker a peace treaty with all sides before there's an adorable blood bath, but the fox hasn't been seen in weeks.
