Let me throw the question back: Did you not know that general Mattis designed because of the initial open decision to withdraw troups? Was he an anti-trump person? How many other people warned against it? I am not an expert, do you think Mattis was? What happened after Trump assured Turkey we were leaving?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 So lets throw this back at you. When is a good time to leave a conflict that is never ending?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 when it is well thought out with all of the consequences considered and then in a planned, safe, approach.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 And when is it time to pull the plug? Anyone can maintain the status quo. It takes courage to call the end when it is time to call the end.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 "courage?" Not the correct term! If one has the full knowledge of what will likely happen, prepares for it and has assent of those involved, there is no reason to need courage! But to abandon those who were allies and helped, those who you abandon to terrible fate, that doesn't require courage at all, that is lunacy. That is evil!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 Except there is no knowledge. It is assumptions and there is a concerted effort on the part of the neolibs/cons to keep the money flowing their way by extending meaningless wars endlessly. Why do you think Hillary attacked Gabbard? Hillary's money could be cut off.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 why do you bring up Hillary? She lost, forget her, get over your animosity and wake up tonthevreal world. Even you haven't become totally brainwashed, open y9ur eyes and look where the country is. In the words of a famous republican future president at the time (I did expand the statement a bit), are YOU better off than you were 10 years ago, 3 years ago or a year ago? Where were you economically in 2007 and 2008?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 You don't follow the news. This happened yesterday.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 great job at ignoring my question!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 I am ignoring you not your questions. How stupid do you have to be to fail to realize that having spent 10 TRILLION dollars fighting endless, meaningless wars that maybe you would be better off spending the money elsewhere. I am sure there are better places to spend money than keeping warring factions from killing each other.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 you brought this up not me. I wouldn't have gone into Iraq, so in that I agree, but, who did that. Don't be such an ass.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 The warmonger Demoncraps and Rethuglicans perpetuated that fraud on the American people. Trump is calling a halt to it much like Nixon ended the endless war in Vietnam. Glad Trump has the wisdom and the fortitude to call a spade a spade and let those who want to fight fight. America does not need to spend its treasure trying to make peace where there is no peace.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@hippyjoe1955 jeep deluding yourself, I guess you love trump and Nixon, you know what happened to Nixon. Answer my question if you thing trump is such a great president. Are you really better off today than 3 years ago? How about the country and world? Are they better now than 3byears ago?
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@samueltyler2 Not loving anyone. Just a desire to keep ourselves from deluding ourselves that we have some sort of obligation to keep peace all over the world. If someone wants to fight let them fight. No skin off of mine. I don't need to be there telling them what or what not to do. The Kurds and the Turks are ancient enemies and will still be enemies when America has lost its pre-eminent position. Let them sort their own issues out.

You clearly have read nothing about the work that has been done in northern Syria.
Turkey is a NATO member. The possibility of Turkey charging in and attacking a faction of Russian troops
or Syrian regulars. ( by accident) then getting into an exchange they cant handle by themselves. Who would they come crying to?
There are no good answers here. The Kurds were happy with the SF and the cia there.
We would have access to oil and minerals etc.
There is nothing clean cut about this.
The US will be at war as long as KBR wants to be at war.

@SW-User You obviously have not followed the facts on the ground preferring the misinformation of the deep state mouth pieces. 10 Trillion dollars have accomplished what exactly? The instant the US pulls back the facade erected will crumble and the warring parties will be right back at it. If you want to go stand between the two I will contribute to your ticket. Just don't ask anyone else to take your place.

I’ve kept up with people who report from the ground.
I don’t know any deep state mouth pieces.
I don’t like what my country has done across the globe. We did it in the name of Jesus and oil.
The only nation that stands to benefit from this action is Russia.
Our fighting days are done. It’s the young men and women who have everything to lose over natural resources. @hippyjoe1955

@SW-User Sure you know people on the ground. And I have a gold mine on Pluto. Want to buy some shares? I guess you have never known anyone who has stood in the line of fire trying to keep two fighting factions apart. A lot of my friends spent time in Cyprus keeping the Greeks and Turks apart. The shots would start across the dividing line and the UN troops would jump into their jeeps and drive up and down the line to keep the warriors apart. Not a pleasant job and completely senseless. The factions are still fighting long after the UN left. What was the point of them ever being there? What was the point of my friends putting their lives on the line?

SW-User
this isn’t about your friends or who i know. yes, i know people who work through NGOs from Africa to Cambodia. That aside there is a group of people who work independently of the regular media. who have reported on the reality of things.
tell me, am i wrong on the russia claim?

@SW-User So you don't actually have any friends that stand with arms at the ready when the shooting starts. Next time ask a soldier about what it is like.

🙄...
answer the russia question
it’s not about your army buddies.
those on active duty have a specific job to do. they signed up for the work.they are paid to take orders and not do in depth research and reporting, unless that is their job in the military.

@SW-User I don't care about Russia. If it wants to spend its treasure keeping the middle easterners from killing each other then good on them. They already lost that battle.

SW-User
perhaps you should pay more attention to what is happening in the world. Russia and China are playing chess , while the west plays checkers.
your disinterest is appreciated by them.@hippyjoe1955
