To most of us the reaction is "nothing" but I would leave it up to the men & women who serve. It's like if someone wanted to hire someone at your job and plunk them down next to you...do you have a say in it? Normally no but if it's a life or death situation - I think they should have a voice in the decision. It's easy for us "couch sitters" to blather on about what's right and wrong but if your in a life/death situation...are you comfortable with you "has your six" as they say (your back)….just an opinion.

@luctoretemergo I served (US Army veteran), and I’d be happy having someone there who had my back, no matter what. I don’t care about cisgender, transgender, straight, gay or bi, male or female....give me a soldier who is trained and dedicated to be next to me in a combat situation. That’s my opinion.
