The Nazis were horrible despicable monstrous people...but god DAMN did they have a good fashion sense.

I mean come on, how badass were those uniforms they wore, with the hats that had the eagle on the front and the bright red swastika armband and the overcoats with the Iron Cross around the collar. They had a hell of an aesthetic.

My professor actually said that the Nazis had the best uniforms and one trigglypuff said that saying it was horrible, and people told him to shut up. I mean Hugo Boss designed them!!!

@SW-User Chanel had a hand in Nazi fashion for a brief period too.

Even their war anthems were so cool. I liked Das Panzelied so much

@SW-User You know what's funny? With the controversy over the American national anthem cos of the football thing, I was listening to different anthems of different countries and I noticed pretty much all of them follow the same pattern, pride, war, nationalism, and freedom. And then I listened to the Ukrainian national anthem and it totally split the script. Basically the entire song carries the message of "You can beat us up and torture us and kill us as much as you want but we don't care because Ukraine is awesome and you suck even if you murder us all."

@BlueMetalChick That is a new level of badass lol

@BlueMetalChick Unfortunately getting up to get kicked back down is all Ukraine really knows. :/

@MethDozer It's a bit sad when you think about it, yes.

@BlueMetalChick For sure. I grew up with a huge Ukie and Pollock community. Many who had Grandparents who were in Polish concentration camps.
The history I heard about both places from the people who moved here from those places gave a profound respect for the resilience they have as nations of people.

( Yes I know lumping Poles and Ukranians together is bad.)

@MethDozer My piano teacher was a Uke. She was a little wonky though, she lived in Kiev when the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown happened and she was dangerously close to the site of the explosion. She was generally healthy but she said sometimes she would exhibit symptoms of radiation poisoning, like occasionally clumps of her hair would fall out at random, and you could tell from how she acted that she was just a little bit off.

@BlueMetalChick I'm a horrible person. We're talking about Nazi uniforms, Chernobyl victims, and Ukranian oppression all I can think about right no is how long it's been since I had some good Ukranian food. A plate of verenyky, nalisnyky, and big side of kaputska is all that is on my mind.

@MethDozer There's an entire neighborhood here called Ukrainian Village and the delis there are super cheap but so fucking delicious.

@BlueMetalChick I bet. My granny lived across a Ukie Church. On the weekends they would have bingo and the nuns and congregation women would cook food in the basement and sell it. The stench of onions and cabbage could be smelled for blocks but god damn was it some of the best food one could ever have.

Honestly Polish, Ukranian, and German food is my favorite. It's so good but so under the radar of most. Even in food they get no respect.

@MethDozer It's not my favorite but it's definitely something I enjoy the hell out of. And it's easily the most affordable among the various ethnic groups of food I like. You can get a full meal, drinks, and dessert at a Polish, Ukrainian, or even Russian deli for ten bucks. They have chocolate eclairs the size of a bread loaf for fifty cents and six ounces of pork costs like two bucks.

@BlueMetalChick Probably because I ate a lot of it as a kid but rarely ever now. So... You know.
