The Nazis were horrible despicable monstrous people...but god DAMN did they have a good fashion sense.

I mean come on, how badass were those uniforms they wore, with the hats that had the eagle on the front and the bright red swastika armband and the overcoats with the Iron Cross around the collar. They had a hell of an aesthetic.

Well when you have a fashion designer create them for ya.....
The German Nazi's and Hitler were experts at using image to advance their cause. Taking near destitute and broken down young men and putting them into sharp and strong look attire that has command and presence was part of using imagery to delude the masses.

@MethDozer That's a really good point. The hopelessness following the loss of World War One combined with the anger associated for unjustly being blamed entirely for the conflict, not to mention the German economic depression, probably had people feeling pretty deplorable. The contrast between that and being given slick looking uniforms and nice haircuts and being granted honored positions in the military probably made them a lot more loyal to the Nazi party and less likely to question their despicable cause.

@BlueMetalChick Yep you take people who feel like nothing and you make them into anything then you pretty much have won them. Sorta playing on the rags to riches fantasy.

It's kinda like the old saying " The suit makes the man".
