I Hate My Job

Call center is horrible. but I live alone and I had no choice...

You would think that my degree in IT would help me... but apparently no work experience = no job... what? how am I suppose to get work experience if I am not hired? internships? those are poorly paid ...

... a degree in IT is pretty much for getting a job in a call center and then working your way up, I'd think.

not sure about that , especially if you learned software development and such @SW-User

@Otichoo so a degree in computer science then? a degree in IT sounds like... I dunno, full sail university or devry or some such. which isn't to say they have no value, it's just more of a trade school approach and sometimes isn't quite what people are looking for. if you wanted to do development, use your time in the call center to get some good ops experience, try to get the tier 2 and 3 techs to give you stuff to do/show you, then start trying to make a shift into devops.

@Otichoo it'll just take some time. and you'll have to ask for things/make your own things that fit well. 'I made this little script to pull in from all these sources and generate a report. do you want it emailed to you every morning?' kinda things.
