Feeling lost

New job has taken over my mind and don’t feel like I have a life besides it. Don’t like the job much. And don’t know what I want at home either? Idk? Mind is blank about my own life.

At work: I just want to be done and go home.
At home: now what?

@BrandNewMan thank you. Due to having less non-work time I haven’t been doing much else. My job is helping others so I’m kind of burnt out of helping anyone though.
I appreciate your suggestions
@Stuffy Ah, I see. Can relate to work hours limiting available time. Hope you find something to help address what you are encountering.

Living without a purpose is difficult as you feel you are unwanted and nobody really needs you and you have no necessity for anything.

What you could do is find ways to take on some responsibility in addition to your work, like being a nanny or be gaurdian through adoption centres so there is someone for you at home.

@in10RjFox Oh but the job includes being needed- I just wish I was wanted and needed by my relatives. My job is caretaker to a very handicapped person. I’m missing having my own personal pursuits and time for them.

I feel that way myself quite often. I don't really have any advice to give you on how to remedy your situation, but I do hope your situation gets better soon.

@HowtoDestroyAngels Thank you. A short kind word is not that hard is it? Well for some people it is. Nice to know there’s always a kind stranger out there somewhere.
Perhaps look at how you spend your time outside of work. Do you have hobbies, are you challenging yourself, getting any social interaction, doing anything to help others? If not or not enough .. perhaps think about starting there. Find something or something new that interests you to put some of that time toward.
Well, try to clear your mind and think about things which make you happy.

How about doing some of THOSE?

@SomeMichGuy I’m feeling better after I made my adult son listen to my plight and give his pov. I’m the kind of person who seems to need to talk to someone about things.
@Stuffy There's a reason Freud noted the so-called "talking cure"...

Long before him, people knew that sharing difficulties made them easier.

You are depressed. Sorry.
Stuffy · 61-69, F
@Fukfacewillie simply. Yes. Have been most my life. Hire can anyone not be? Are you happy?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Stuffy I’ve never really looked for happiness so much as satisfaction, and I’ve been very fortunate in life. I definitely have issues, though. Just lucky depression isn’t one of them.
